This is is a nice rehab we did for my old friend Boppa. We wanted to retain the looks of a Tele while adding a full-blown Floyd Rose locking tremolo to it.
The only real trick here was to sacrifice a nice heavy-duty gold Tele bridgeplate. We cut off the bridge/saddle section of the plate and kept the portion needed to hold the bridge pickup. After careful cutting and filing, we drilled and countersunk three screw holes to mount it in front of the Floyd bridge.
While this one earns a two-thumbs-up in looks, it's also armed with tasty pickups and a five-way switch that gives the standard three Tele options as well as two "blow" modes that send either pickup hot to the jack for extra "sting".
